Dr. Melinda Lukens

Melinda Lukens, MD joined the Northwestern Obstetrics and Gynecology Consultants in 2009. Dr. Lukens completed her residency at Loyola University Medical Center after medical school at Southern Illinois University. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois where she earned her bachelor of science in 2001. Dr. Lukens is a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist. She enjoys taking care of many things in general Obstetrics and Gynecology but she has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery as well as weight loss medicine. In 2021, she completed her boards in Obesity Medicine. Since then, she has been actively counseling and treating patients who request assistance. Her practice philosophy is to be an open listener and involve her patients in their medical decision-making process by providing continuous education and maintaining excellent communication. She is also committed to practicing evidence-based medicine and help train future physicians by regularly mentoring medical students. When not working, Dr Lukens enjoys spending time with her family, watching her kids play sports and staying active.
